Etsy Spotlight: SamanthaMaeSticks

Happy Friday friends!

I hope you all had an amazing week!

I'm back with another amazing Etsy shop for you to see!

Samantha is the owner of Samantha Mae Sticks! Being in Hawaii, its often difficult to find planner stickers that don't take 10 days to arrive. When I saw that she was from Hawaii, I knew that I had to make an order. Not only did these stickers arrive the day after they shipped, but they are ADORABLE.

She offers both matte and glossy stickers. I am a matte girl, but she included a few extras that were glossy. Both paper types are great quality.

I did order most of these stickers, and am so glad that I did. I love her colors, and the kiss-cut is great. Majority of her items that are posted come in different colors and patterns. There are several stickers that you can get in glitter as well! She is awesome to work with, and such a sweetheart.

My favorite stickers that she included are definitely the glitter balloons! I cannot wait to use these to mark birthdays and special events that we have coming up! I will definitely be purchasing more.

Below I included photos of the stickers that I received:

Glitter Balloons

Glitter Laptops

Freebie

Cat Icons

Daisy Sunflower Coffee Cups
(These are the CUTEST stickers ever)

Floral Planners

Doodle Planners

Heart Bubbles

Heart Labels

Floral Labels

Doodle Coffee Cups

Freebies Included

I am so thankful that Samantha worked with me, and that I now have a dealer on my island haha!

If you are from Hawaii and you read this, you definitely want to check her out for quick shipping and great products!

But if your not from Hawaii, you will STILL want to check her out!

Below is her shop link:

I hope you go and check out her shop! I promise you won't disappointed!

Violet & Willow PR: August

I always feel so blessed when people ask me to be part of their PR team. But after receiving this package from Melissa who owns Violet and Willow on Etsy, I feel even more honored.

She sent me a package, which came surprising fast seeing as she lives in Canada, that included some pretty awesome goodies. What I think is even more awesome, is that whatever she sent for me personally, she also sent for a giveaway for one of you lucky ladies!!

Violet and Willow has very unique stickers. They are completely original to her, which I think is great. Like I stated before, the planning community has become very saturated and you find a lot of shops that sell the same things, but not Melissa. I have not found any shop duplicates. I love that in a shop, and not just because I'm PRing for her.

I've included several photos of the products that Melissa has sent to me.
All of these stickers are on a glossy paper. They are kiss-cut, and bright colored!

Back to School Set

Social Media Set

Traveling Set

Work Set

Bill Due Set

I am so in love with everything that she has sent me, and truly believe in this shop. The quality is absolutely beautiful and the colors are true to sight.

If you like what you see, head on over to my IG as I will be giving away a set of these, as well as another set of the back-to-school kit!

Thank you for stopping in, and I hope you head on over to my IG and enter the giveaway.
You don't want to miss this, I promise!

Q & A : 8 Things to Know About Me

Hey friends!

It has been brought to my attention that many of you don't know much about me!
I thought it would be pretty cool to tell you 8 facts about me that pretty much summarizes me as a whole. Behind my planners, I am a pretty simple person. I like to live simplistically and functional.

I thought hard about a few things I could share with you that you wouldn't know and this is what I came up with:

1. I am a Christian.

I am a true believer in Christ as my Savior, and a huge believer in forgiveness. I try to have a pure and free heart that radiates Christ's love. I love all people, and try not to judge. I believe everything happens for a reason, and trust that everything is in God's time and planning.

2. I am married and an Army wife.

I married my college sweetheart in December of 2016. We met his Freshman year of college in 2010, and have been together ever since. He enlisted in the Army in June 2015. Ever since then, I've learned what it's like to love someone in the military. I've learned that country and duty always come first, and have learned to be okay with that. I have also learned that our love is unbreakable and stronger than I ever could have imagined. Life has thrown us some crazy balls, but we've learned how to bat. I am thankful for this journey and the community we are apart of.

3. I live in Hawaii, but can't wait to go back to NY.

I can't believe I'm actually saying this, but I cannot wait to go back to New York. We currently are stationed in Hawaii. It is as beautiful as the photos, but I'm ready to go home!

Hawaii is wonderful. We have seen so many amazing things here. The hikes and adventures here are spectacular. It's definitely a blessing to be stationed here and I really do love it. Here are a few of my favorite places:

Ala Moana Beach

Diamond Head

Bellows Beach

4 I am a Social Worker.

I have my bachelors and masters in social work. My dream job is to work in a psychiatric hospital, or working with homeless people. I have always had a passion to help people who cannot help themselves, or are not given the chance too. I'm currently waiting to take the licensing exam in Hawaii, and applying for jobs every day. But I won't lie, I don't mind taking a little break from school and work, and relaxing in this amazing place.

P.S. I am definitely ready to go back to work as soon as I can get a job! :)

5. I love animals. Cats are my favorite.

I think everyone already knew that but hey. I'll show you a few photos.

Willow Bean - She is currently in NY with my parents. She had too much furr to make her way to Hawaii. I was afraid she'd get too hot here.

Drake - My parents English Springer Spaniel who is also my favorite, but in New York. He is also my parents dog. He is a spunky boy who LOVES to hunt and snuggle.

Max- We rescued Max when we moved to Hawaii. He is a German Shepard Mix, and is such a ball of energy and love. He is only 6 months old, and we are so excited to watch him grow.

And my goof-ball Scotti- Scotti is such a blessing. I first saw him when we went to the Humane Society in Hawaii after I arrived on the island. At the time we were living in a hotel and couldn't have pets. I was so upset that we had to leave him there. I just had a gut feeling that Scotti was meant to live with us but we had to leave him. We went back a few times and Scotti had been adopted. I was happy he had a home, but so bummed he wasn't with me.

We went back on a day that they were having a deal for military adopting dogs. I had decided just to peek in the cat cages just to see what they had, and to my surprise, the person who adopted my baby had returned him. He was hiding in a corner and terrified. I ran in and picked him up, and from that moment. have loved on him like no other. This cat is special, and has so much love to give. He had been returned to the Humane Society 6 TIMES. I cannot understand why.

We are definitely blessed to have him.

6. I hoard planning supplies.

Don't we all? The amount of stickers I have could probably last me a lifetime. I have recently put myself on a no-spend. I maaaay have broken it a few times though ;) I love how creative some women are in the community, and am always so impressed with the quality of the items I receive. Etsy is a bad bad app to have ;)

For these photos- head on over to @planningourholmes on IG. I have thousands.... literally ;)

7. I love fitness.

I love seeing results, but I HATE working out. Thank God my husband is very dedicated and is always pushing me to go. I love workout clothes, and I love the gym, but I hate physically working out.

8. I could binge watch Netflix 24/7.

My current favorites are Gilmore Girls, Law & Order: SVU, Fixer Upper, & Heroes. I could obviously go on and on, but those are the 4 I'm between right now!
Heroes is frustrating me. It's a show I watch with my husband, and were on the second season but it's SO confusing. Has anyone else watched this?

So there are a few things that pretty much sum up who I am. Like I said, I'm pretty simplistic and functional. I don't have many secrets or skeletons in my closet. I like to think I am an open book and someone who is pretty comfortable sharing my story and how I got to where I am.

Thank you for reading and I hope you now know a little more about me and where I come from.
If you have any questions, don't be afraid to ask!

Until next time,
Jennifer

Etsy Blogspot: TypeAPlanning

Happy Wednesday my friends!

We have finally made it to hump day. This week is rolling by so slowly... anyone else feel that way?

Today I come to you with not only an amazing Etsy shop, but an amazing Etsy shop owned by a pretty cool lady.

I had the pleasure of talking and getting to know Lacey. She is a recent stay-at-home mom who is following her dream of owning a sticker shop. Lacey contacted me on Instagram, and her stickers showed up in my mailbox 3 days later. For being in Hawaii, these were the quickest package I have ever received. I know personally, when I order stickers online, I don't like waiting very long for them to arrive. With TypeAPlanning, you won't have to wait too long.

Lacey has an amazing quality product. Her sticker paper is different than most. It has an extremely smooth feeling to it, and the kiss cut is perfect.

Below are the stickers that Lacey sent me:

Polaroid Picture

Cinnamon Roll

iPhones

Larger Erin Condren Planners

Paw Prints

Balloons

Milk Cartons

Balloon Bunches

Washi Tape Tubes

Mini Erin Condren Planners

As you can see for yourself, these stickers are to die for. She also has a lot more to choose from in her shop. After talking to Lacey, she talked about having so many more ideas up her sleeve and meeting the need of people in the community.

Stay tuned for adorable new releases that will be coming to her shop, but for now since you read all the way to the end, she included a coupon code for my readers! :)

I hope you head on over to her shop, and take advantage of the wonderful coupon she offered.

Again thank you so much for stopping by!

If you have any questions please leave them below!
Until next time,
Jennifer

Meal Planner Review

Hello friends!!

I hope you all had an amazing and productive weekend!

Since moving to Hawaii, and being a real "housewife" for the first time, I am learning a lot about organization, productivity, and functionality. I realized I was really struggling when it came to grocery shopping, meal planning, and budgeting for food. I use my planner for just about everything time wise, but there is no where in your planner that helps with this.

I had done some research and saw that a lot of meal planners were pretty expensive. Now I'm not one to shy away from spending money on things that work, but this was a new product for me. I had never used a meal planner or a grocery list other than on a scrap piece of paper I found on the way to the grocery store.

I finally decided to check on Etsy. Big surprise that I'd find something I really liked. I came across mod86designery. By the looks of her shop and reviews, she has been doing this awhile. I finally decided to make a purchase. She had so many covers and designs to choose from, as well has 2 different size meal planners. She offers both medium and large. Along with meal planners, she also makes yearly planners, notebooks, and other bounded books!

I decided to get the medium because it would be perfect to fit into my purse when were going to the store. That's just what I think will work best for me.

Like stated before, she offers a number of different covers. I went with this bright purple floral cover. It's even more beautiful in person.

The inside looks like this:
It gives you room to write your contact information so that if something happens to it or you happen to leave it in your cart, they can return it to you!

The actually meal planning pages are perfect. On one side you can put together the menu you want to have, and then right next to it, you have a place to make your grocery list. I love the beautiful colors she uses, and that everything is organized into their own places. Although I don't plan out breakfasts and lunches (I'm usually home), I am going to try and figure out how to use one page for 3 weeks. I'll keep you updated!

She also includes a double-sided pocket folder in the back. Its perfect for recipes, coupons, or even receipts from your grocery trip.

The back is just a solid purple with all of her information on it.

Now that you've seen this amazing product, can you believe it only cost $15.00!!??! That is such an amazing deal!

It took about a week to arrive, but that's normal being that I live in Hawaii.

Overall this is a fantastic product! And totally worth every penny. This will last over a year, and will help you stay on track with your spending at the grocery store!

If you want one for yourself, head on over to:

Thank you so much for stopping over & I hope this helps you out as much as it did me!

Until next time,
Jennifer

Guest Post: JenBoomPlans and her Planner Journey

Hey ladies!

I've got another guest post from one of my favorite ladies in the planner community. Jen is another blogger who I've been through Instagram. Her layouts are GORGEOUS and her handwriting is perfect. I hope you all enjoy her posts and definitely head on over and check out her Instagram (@Jenboomplans) and her blog.

Hi, I’m Jen of @jenboomplans. I’m thrilled to be guest blogging for Jennifer, one of my favorite Planner Girls, today! I’ll be sharing a bit of my planner journey and, why I recently switched from the Plum Paper Planner to the Erin Condren Life Planner.

Always fond of stationery and organization, planning is something that has come naturally to me since my first job out of college. Over the years, I have used Frankin Covey, MemoryDock, DayTimer and Filofax systems in various sizes. All had one thing in common: rings. The ability to add sections and expand the system worked fantastic for my career as a social worker turn administrator, and my binder-of-the-moment would travel everywhere with me: in the car, on trains, to meetings and client appointments.

When I retired to become a SAHM, fancy planners fell to the side as I picked up…a notebook, the simplest system for feeding logs, pediatrician notes and milestones. By the time baby number three was on the way and my oldest had started preschool, I once again needed more. A ring system was just too bulky, knowing my planner would rarely leave the house. I explored a slew of spiral bound options before deciding on the Plum Paper Planner. I used the horizontal for a few months before realizing I was definitely a vertical girl. So, I ordered the vertical, just lines PPP. That was fine for a year and a half. Once I discovered decorating and, at the same time, was really using my planner daily, there were a few things about the layout that just weren’t working for me. When the Erin Condren Hourly in Neutral was released on June 1st, I jumped online to order and it has worked out far better than I could have hoped. Dare I say…planner peace?!

The main functional differences between the planner layouts are in the sidebars and the daily columns. Both planners are lined, which is a sticking point for me. What I found with the PPP was that I was not using the bottom checklist section. Most weeks it was either left blank or, I struggled to force filling the lines. The unlined “Notes” box on the bottom left was another void for me. I used it only for decorative stickers.

My new ECLP sidebar? It’s love. I’m using every bit of it. There’s hardly space for decoration as I’m listing and tracking. Ahh, bliss!

Does planner peace exist? Maybe. Maybe not. But, I’m happy that I’ve found a system that works for me both creatively and for keeping organized at this stage of my life.

Happy planning!
Jen
